ChessCore ("we", "us", "the app") is a chess app developed by Lennart Soligard. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive a unique account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We use this to create and secure your ChessCore profile.
Profile information. Username, country, and profile photo that you choose to add in the app.
Gameplay data. Games played, moves, ratings, puzzle progress, bot statistics, and tournament results, so we can show your stats and history back to you.
Social features. Friend connections, club memberships, and messages you send in optional in-game or friend chat, so those features can function.
Purchase information. ChessCore Premium is an auto-renewing annual subscription processed by Apple; we receive confirmation of an active subscription so we can unlock Premium features, but we never see or store your payment details.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to operate ChessCore: authenticating you, running matches and tournaments, displaying your stats and ratings, enabling friend and club features, and unlocking Premium content for active subscribers. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Subscription (ChessCore Premium)
ChessCore Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed annually at $7.99/year (or the equivalent in your local currency), with no free trial.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews for the same length and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Where your data is stored
ChessCore uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database) to store account and gameplay data securely. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Sharing with other users
Your username, country, profile photo, and public stats may be visible to other players (for example, in leaderboards, tournaments, or during a game). Chat messages are only visible to the people in that conversation.
Your choices
You can change your profile photo and, once, your username from My Account.
You can delete your account at any time from My Account > Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile and associated data.
You can restore a previous purchase from My Account > Restore Purchase.
Children's privacy
ChessCore is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
